QA Lead Solutions Delivery

The role  is part of  the  Solution  Delivery  Team,  working closely  with  QA Manager, Team Manager and  Configuration Pod Leads responsible for the quality processes used in end-to-end configuration of Darwin implementation during projects and programs. 

As a team leader, you will be the contact point for all team members, so your communication skills should be excellent. You should also be able to act proactively to ensure smooth team operations and effective collaboration.

The QA Lead must understand how quality testing fits into the organizational structure, in other words, clearly define its role within the organization.

Ultimately, you should lead by setting a good example and engage the team to achieve goals.
Ensuring all configuration tasks meet quality criteria through test planning, test execution, quality assurance and issue
tracking. Ensure the team is focusing on automation as improvement area along with manual testing. Keep raising the bar and standards of all the quality processes with every project.

 

The role and your mission:

High level quality responsibilities:

  • Organizing and controlling the Quality Testing process and QAG processes
  • Ensuring visibility, traceability, and control of the quality testing process to deliver a high-quality product
  • Building up and leading the QA Team to the success of projects
  • Defining the scope of testing within the context of delivery
  • Applying the appropriate test measurements and metrics in the project

Workload and operational:

  • Ensure QA work gets completed in the agreed time and desirable quality standards (weekly review of tasks in progress individual reports)
  • Ensure project statuses are being sent to relevant stakeholders highlighting possible blockers
  • Set clear team goals and monitor metrics against set targets
  • Create weekly quality reports for Configurators and QAs
  • Own the incident review process and output of the process including feedback
  • Problem Management representative for Solutions Delivery
  • Implement and monitor QAG gates across In Life UK, give feedback, and take action in order to continuously improve ways of working.
  • Ensuring quality standards for all processes
  • SD Pulse Champion
  • Maintain checklists and test cases up to date and constantly seeks ways of improving them

Communication and escalation management:

  • Coordinate unplanned QA requests in collaboration with the Pod Leads in order to:

- Reduce risk on specific tasks or projects

- Ensure due dates are met or re-prioritized if needed

  • Produce clear actions/minutes from meetings and circulate accordingly
  • Facilitate communication between different locations/departments
  • Cascade down information related to clients / department goals / business decisions
  • Report high-level information to the QA Manager on a regular basis to ensure efficient delivery

Leadership and people management:

  • Line management for the QA and QAG specialists:

- day to day people management

- regular one to one meetings to discuss activities, priorities, progress and problems

- monitor individual performance through objectives and career progression

- manage types of leaves

- ensure equal access to opportunities to enable people to fully participate in the learning process in order to develop to their full potential

  • Motivate team members
  • Discover training needs and provide coaching
  • Listen to team members’ feedback and resolve any issues or conflicts
  • Create an inspiring team environment with an open communication culture
  • Recognize high performance and reward accomplishments
  • Manage low performance/leavers in the team (proactively escalate to QA Manager and HR where necessary)
  • Encourage creativity, risk-taking and ownership-taking

SD processes:

  • Be able to explain and apply the SD QA process within In Life UK as well as reinforcing it as best practice
  • Helping the QAs in developing testing skills according to SD QA process
  • Explore process improvements and adjustments in order to streamline and make work more efficient at business type level

Growth and development:

  • Seek opportunities to be assigned to different work streams to demonstrate and develop new and existing skills for self and team members
  • Prove responsibility for own development

Utilization

  • 40% Can be achieved through scoping, client calls, tasks, incidents reviews.
