Our benefits

Working in the Employee Benefits industry, we have a unique advantage when it comes to creating
our own reward package, so you can rest assured that you’ll be gaining access to the best deals
and advice on the market to keep you and your loved ones happy and healthy.

Finance
In addition to a competitive salary, pension matching and various insurance options, we aim to provide you with peace of mind when it comes to your financial wellbeing. That’s why we invest in financial education tools so you have the knowledge you need to make the best decisions – whatever your circumstances.
Health
Now more than ever it’s important to look after ourselves: physically and mentally. Upon joining Darwin you’ll have access to a range of virtual fitness classes and health benefits to support all your health and wellbeing needs. You’ll also gain access to a free, confidential mental health platform for you and a loved one!
Lifestyle
Our lifestyle benefits include shopping discounts, long service rewards and a Spending Pot - which can be spent on a variety of categories. We know the most valuable commodity is time, so we also support Flexible Working and additional leave for your birthday and moments that matter (like buying a new puppy!)

Our 'Pink' culture

For many Pink is just a colour, but for Darwin People it means so much more.

Pink is the word we use to describe the intangible quality or ‘essence’ of a Darwin Person, and our culture – it’s the amalgamation of everything we do and stand for. It’s not easy to put into words because it’s just who we are and the feeling and experience we create for the people who work with us.

Change benefits. For good.

Our purpose is clear: to 'Change benefits. For good.’, and it drives everything we do. It drove us to create Darwin – the platform that transformed the benefits management and communications market – ensuring employees all over the world can access the support they need from their employer in the moments that matter to them. Our purpose is what keeps us innovating and pushing the market and ourselves to do more, to do better. So when we say ‘for good’, we mean for the good of our clients and their employees, we mean for the good of our people who are helping us on this journey, and we mean for good in perpetuity.

Our core values

It doesn’t just matter what you do, it matters how; and that’s why we have a strong set of core values. We’re not perfect (who is?!) but that’s the beauty of a Darwin Person, they’re always open to learn, challenge, improve, collaborate, innovate and have fun along the way. That’s because of our core values: Challenging Everything, Delivering Excellence, Being Brilliant Together and Maximising Potential.

What they mean to us

We created our values over 12 years ago, from workshops with our people and clients – many of whom are still with us today. Unlike some companies, they aren’t just written on the wall for people to walk past (well, ours are actually – in neon pink lights!) but the point is they’re so much more than decoration, or to tick a corporate box. They really mean something to us. We hire, reward and recognise our people on our values because they’re the foundation on which we built our culture. And no matter where you are in the world, we’re all under the same Pink umbrella. We celebrate our differences, and we come together in how we all live our values so that everybody can thrive.

What our people say about working at Darwin

James Akers

Director of Product Management

To put it simply, my role is to help shape the evolution of Darwin. To do this, it’s important that I understand customers’ reward schemes and needs. The global reach of Darwin and the possibilities it brings to streamlining reward schemes at a local and global level is something that makes coming to work every day exciting. With Darwin our clients are easily able to get analytics that bring transparency to benefit costs whilst measuring engagement and return on investment.

Andreea Bindea

Helpdesk Team Lead

I am a team leader in the Helpdesk team. We are the first point of contact in Thomsons for our client’s employees. We ensure that they have a great experience of Darwin, helping them out whenever they get stuck. Today, employee benefits are such an important part of everyone’s lives and we’re committed to getting it right the first time - all over the world. Speaking 5 languages is a great asset in my line of work, my favorite one is English!

Anindita Biswas

Senior Technical Business Analyst

It’s crucial that I understand the customers’ business needs so I can translate them into technical requirements. I love analyzing different employee benefit markets that are in our customers’ roadmaps and empowering them with the insights specific to each market. Three characteristics which make Thomsons unique: 1. Dedication to keeping clients and their satisfaction a top priority 2. Excellent company culture that respects a healthy work-life balance 3. Continuous innovation and a desire to be the best employee benefits software developer

Oana Costea

Delivery Manager

I manage Darwin configuration projects, providing tailored solutions for our customers. Every day is a challenge, whether it’s branding complex campaigns or finding solutions for tricky benefit flows. Organization and positive thinking are the two qualities that help me deliver on time and at the standard that both Thomsons and our customers expect. The thing I really like about working for Thomsons is having the opportunity to interact with clients and colleagues, all over the world.

Our community

We are passionate about giving back to our community! Our charity initiative Pay It Forward is based on a simple premise: asking someone to repay your kindness by doing a good deed for someone else.

Most importantly we aim to do right by our people, clients and anyone else we may interact with. One of the ways we do this is by educating our people on modern slavery so that they can be aware of the issues surround it and let us know if they suspect there may be any form of slavery going on in our supply chain. We stand firm against all forms of modern slavery and regularly vet our suppliers to ensure they share our ethics on this issue. For more information, please click here. We also aim to be kind to our planet by working with charities and suppliers who share our love for sustainability.

Pay it forward

All Darwin People globally are encouraged and empowered to get involved in a wide range of charitable activities from sporting events to baking to volunteering. Each year we aim to top our fundraising efforts by selecting a new charity together and coming up with an exciting challenge that everyone can get involved with. Whether it’s partaking in our annual challenge or something more personal, all our people are offered an additional day’s leave for fundraising or volunteering, and charity matching.
