Stephen Read
Chief Executive Officer

Stephen joined Darwin in November 2014 as Chief Commercial Offer, and became CEO in July 2017. He was previously Executive Vice President of CEB’s SHL Talent Measurement Solution and has also held a number of international leadership roles in SAP, Sony and IBM. Stephen is passionate about innovation, the growth and development of Darwin and enabling businesses to realise the value of technology on a global scale.


Chris Bruce
Managing Director

Chris is Managing Director and co-founder of Darwin and has been in the benefits industry for over 20 years. Driven by an entrepreneurial spirit and passion for all things Darwin, his main focus is on the development of new markets and engagement with global clients. He loves meeting with CHROs and reward leaders to support them in staying one step ahead of the rapidly changing benefits landscape.


Pete Craghill
Chief Technical Officer

Pete has been Darwin’s Chief Technology Officer since 2005. He is responsible for leading the global technology team and the development and testing of our software. Pete is passionate about ensuring there is new and exciting innovation at the heart of benefits technology. Prior to joining Darwin, Pete worked at Microsoft, Northgate IS and PWA specialising in the delivery of HR and payroll systems.


Tina Shah
Chief Financial Officer

Tina is a qualified Chartered Accountant with over 25 years’ experience, much of which in scaling businesses. She joined Darwin from Marsh where Tina worked for 10 years, the last five as CFO for Continental Europe. Prior to Marsh, Tina was CFO of the Fund Services business for UBS Global Asset Management, and she began her career in the Financial Services Audit practice at KPMG.


Matt Cockett
Chief Commercial Officer

Matt joined Darwin at the start of 2019 as our Chief Commercial Officer and owns our growth strategy and execution. He has considerable experience in commercial leadership roles scaling businesses in the tech space. Matt started his career in mobile industry (O2, Vodafone, MIG) and joins us from SaaS HR Tech company Lumesse (sold to Saba Software). Matt is passionate about bringing together leading product and services innovation with world class sales and marketing execution.


Jeff Spritzer
Chief Operations Officer

Jeff joined us in January 2020, responsible for driving business transformation to optimize Darwin delivery, client administration, operational efficiency and a consistent service delivery propositions to the market. Jeff also serves as the Global Operations and Technology Leader for Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB), Marsh & McLennan’s international health business. This dual role ensures focus on ensuring an optimal client experience which is something Jeff is very passionate about - as well as enabling the business through continuous learning and improvement.


Jamie Fitt
SVP - Transformation & Strategic Growth

Jamie is our SVP of Transformation & Strategic Growth, with 15 years’ experience working with Darwin. Jamie was employee number 20 and developed quickly through the ranks to lead the Client Team, going on to support the set-up of our operations in Singapore. Since the acquisition by Mercer in 2016, Jamie has been focused on driving our global growth, in particular by working with Mercer Marsh Benefits (MMB) teams in 20 domestic markets - setting them up to sell and deliver Darwin locally, increasing the adoption of Darwin everywhere. Jamie now leads our key transformational growth initiatives across MMB and Darwin to maximise the impact of our capabilities allowing him to continue his passion to make benefits technology truly locally relevant for employees and clients.
