Following an in-depth examination of the recruitment marketplace, Exsurgo - the leading international recruitment consultancy based in Mayfair, London whose Chairman is James Caan - has switched recruitment software supplier from market leader Bond to Darwin.
While Caan is best known for his appearances on BBC's Dragon's Den, he originally founded Alexander Mann, a multinational recruitment agency which was operating in Australia, Europe and Asia and turning over £130m when he sold his majority stake in 2002.
In 1996 Caan also co-founded Humana International, a multinational headhunting firm with 147 offices in 30 countries, and launched the magazine Recruitment International.
In 2003 Caan founded Hamilton Bradshaw, a mid-market private equity firm, which in 2007 bought private sector recruitment specialist Eden Brown, with revenues of over £180m. Presently Hamilton Bradshaw manages approximately 40 companies with a combined yearly turnover of £400m.

David Jenkins, Managing Director of Exsurgo, said:
"We have recently conducted a full review of the recruitment marketplace searching for a CRM / database tool that will aid our plans for growth. Having worked with one of the market leaders for a number of years, we were looking to partner with a forward-thinking business that would continue to innovate as we developed our offer – in Darwin, we found the ideal partner."
"Their product stood head & shoulders above the rest of the competition, and what I found most impressive was the ease of flexibility that the software offers – it has a strong ‘off the shelf’ process but also allows for bespoke changes to be made with ease."
"The team at Darwin have been exceptional in consulting us on this crucial change for us; and my experience has been a no-nonsense approach focused on delivery which has been a breath of fresh air when compared to previous experiences. I look forward to working with Mike & his team for many years to come."
Darwin developed their ground-breaking recruitment software over a record-breaking 4 year period, with the last 12 months in partnership with their partner Microsoft. Exsurgo went live with Darwin on 9th June.
Mike Charter, CEO of Darwin, said:
"We are delighted that Darwin has been chosen by Exsurgo. It is a real pleasure to work with David and his team, whose professionalism and commitment is unmatched in the industry. They set the standards for others to follow, just as we do on the technology side. It's a brilliant partnership."
